Enable the Recycle Bin in Windows Active Directory 2012
Another feature that Windows brings 2012 is the possibility to more easily enable a recycle bin in our Active Directory. In order to be able to recover any object that we have accidentally deleted, whether you are a user, group, Ou… It's nothing new, We already saw how this feature was available on Windows 2008 R2.
We open from a domain controller the “Within Active Directory Administration”, and on the domain that interests us we enable it, Be careful that this will be an action that we cannot undo! Click on “Enable Recycle Bin…”, yes indeed, we will need a functional level of both forest and domain in 'Windows Server 2012'.
We accept the warning,
We will receive an informative message indicating that the replication of the change has just begun on all our domain controllers, update the AD admin center to reflect the change.
So we will see a container called “Deleted Objets”, we can enter it to recover any object that we have deleted in case of need (since the trash can has existed!).
As we can see, We will be able to recover the object in its original location or wherever we are interested,
And there's nothing left to do but tell you where we got it back, The good thing is that it will also recover it with all the attributes it has!!
