After downloading the Veeam ISO 7, to perform an in-place upgrade, if we have Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager, we must first update this component, in this scenario we have a very simple environment where we only have one Veeam Backup server & Replication, we just need to click on “Upgrade”,

The Veeam Backup installation wizard will appear & Replication, we continue as usual,

During the installation process, it will detect the currently installed versions, if we have already updated Enterprise Manager, the catalog will already be in version 7.x, “Next”,

We enter the new license that we must download from the Veeam website, we have the option to acquire 30 completely free trial days, “Next”,

It will perform a test on the required components…

We will need to enter the service account for Veeam, which will be the same account that has access to the SQL database or NTFS permissions on the catalog directories,

By default, it will detect the connectivity to the SQL database of our Veeam installation,

If everything is correct, it will detect that the database needs to be updated, “Yes”, obviously, Before this, we must have a backup of everything, both of the database and of the machine where Veeam resides!
