We want to share a recent VMware post with all of our customers: VMware Announces End of Availability Date for VMware vSphere® ESX 4.x Hypervisor and VMware Management Assistant Releases 1 and 4

The 28 November 2012, VMware notificará a sus clientes la fecha de fin de disponibilidad del hipervisor VMware vSphere® ESX 4.x y de VMware Management Assistant versiones 1 and 4. La fecha de fin de disponibilidad será el 15 August 2013. Esta comunicación está relacionada con el anuncio general efectuado en julio de 2011 respecto al lanzamiento de VMware vSphere 5.0.

Esta notificación NO AFECTA a los entornos de VMware vSphere ESXi 4.x existentes y sus clientes NO están obligados a adoptar ninguna medida.. Nevertheless, sí se recomienda que los clientes realicen un backup o conserven una copia en archivo de estos binarios y que generen todas las claves de licencia necesarias para mantener o ampliar cualquier entorno del hipervisor VMware vSphere ESX 4.x o de VMware Management Assistant versiones 1 and 4. Estos pasos deben llevarse a cabo before the 15 August 2013. VMware will not provide any binaries or license keys for the vSphere ESX 4.x hypervisor or for VMware Management Assistant versions 1 and 4 after the 15 August 2013.

Note:

• Support lifecycle of the VMware vSphere ESX 4.X hypervisor and VMware Management Assistant
  The end of support date remains 21 of May 2014. More information on the VMware support lifecycle.
• Customer ability to use the vSphere ESX 4.x hypervisor binaries or VMware Management Assistant versions 1 and 4 after the 15 August 2013
  Customers will continue to have the ability to use the licensed binaries after the end of availability and end of support dates. Nevertheless, ya no podrán descargar binarios ni generar nuevas claves de licencia después de la fecha de fin de disponibilidad, ni obtener servicios de soporte y suscripción después de la fecha de fin del ciclo de soporte.
• Disponibilidad y soporte de vSphere ESXi 4.X: SIN cambios
• Disponibilidad de VMware Management Assistant 4.1, 5 or 5.1 y soporte para todas las versiones: SIN cambios
