Soporte para Snapshot de NetApp

Veeam Backup & Replication 8 puede usar los snapshots del storage del fabricante NetApp para sus trabajos de copia o replica. Reduciendo el impacto que de las tareas de backup tradicionales sobre el entorno de producción de virtualización (como todos conocemos) therefore, podremos ejecutar tareas de copia en horas de producción sin afectar a producción!

Soporte para Boost de EMC DataDomain

Veeam Backup & Replication, es rápido, muy rápido, lo sabemos. Pero sin embargo, tras combinarlo con DD Boost notaremos una mejoría en el rendimiento. In su blog, el vExpert Rick Vanover hace un LAB donde demuestra que usando la versión 8 BETA de Veeam consiguió mejorar la velocidad de una tarea de copia full synthetic de una VM hasta 15 times more using DD Boost!!

New explorers for Microsoft SQL Server, Active Directory and Exchange

With the new v8 version of Veeam we will be able to recover more granular elements of our infrastructure, we will now be able to recover from SQL Server or Active Directory as we could so far from Exchange or SharePoint.

Veeam Cloud Connect

There is a new component for the suite called Veeam Cloud Connect, it will allow end customers to send their backups to Service Providers securely via SSL connections (without VPN) to dedicated repositories.

End-to-end encryption

Veeam 8 has incorporated encryption functionality (256-AES-bit) for copy jobs, Backup Copy jobs, tape jobs and VeeamZIP.

Replication Improvements

Veeam Backup & Replication v8 brings major enhancements at the execution level that will help administrators in daily use, includes WAN acceleration for replication processes, failover plans where we can create VM groups, set a startup order, and configure startup times between VMs, as well as creating failover plans to perform a test and set shutdown times at the source, etc...

Backup I/O Control

Veeam Backup & Replication v8 now offers a feature called Backup I/O Control, which will allow control over storage latencies, being able to set an acceptable latency at the datastore level (IOPS) and balance between optimal copy task performance while minimizing impact on the VMware or Hyper-V production environment.
