Installing Windows Multilingual
If we have a server installed or are going to install it with the Windows version MULTILINGUAL, by default it will install it in English, This procedure explains how to install the “Windows Multilingual User Interface Pack ” on the server so that our OS. be it in the language we are interested in (In my case to Spanish). The steps are very simple, first we will install it as normal with the English CDs and then, when you have already installed Windows and updated, we can install the package that will translate it for us.
We put in the MultiLanguage Pack CD and run “muisetup.exe”. We accept the agreement “Accept the License Agreement” & “Continue”.
We mark the language or languages that we are interested in having our S.O.. In my case, I'm only interested in it being Spanish, so we marked the check of “Spanish”, and if we want all users who are created new and logged into the server to have an environment in Spanish., we must also select Spanish in the combo. And we'll check both checks “Match the language for non-Unicode programs with the default user language” and “Match the default shell UI font with the default user language” for certain applications that use shells or are non-unicode to use the language we specify. “Ok”,
We wait while the settings are applied…
“OK” The Spanish translation package was well applied.
GOOD, This tells us that language (Spanish – Spain) will apply to user accounts that we create from now on. And certain applications will not apply the change if they are not re-enforced again, or its services. Ideally, you should restart the server now for these changes to take effect.
Once restarted, all applications and settings will be in Spanish., Now all that remains is to indicate that the local account (usually that of the administrator) it must also be in Spanish, To translate the menus and so on we have to go to the “Control Panel” > “Regional and Language Options” and on the “Languages”, In the combo below, in “Language used in menus and dialogs” we must put “Spanish”. We give “OK” to apply it.
And for the changes to be immediate we must log in again, So we say that “Yes”. And the entire session will already be in the desired language.
