Presentation Server Migration 4.0 a 4.5 to different server

In this case we are going to retire the old servers, you will have to move the DB in case it is an Access or MSDE to another server with SQL version 2005; if the database is on a SQL server external to these Presentation Servers, It could stay where it is. In this procedure we will migrate the community to other servers with the 4.5 and move the database from MSDE to a SQL 2005. We would start the installation as if it were a second community server, we would join the existing community.

During the installation process we will indicate that we are going to join a server community, we will enter the name of a Presentation Server running version 4.0, in my case CTX40 and its port which by default is 2512, “Following”,

It asks us for credentials to be able to join this community, we provide them and continue the installation. We restart when it asks us. And now we should start migrating all the roles of each server.
