Nagstamon
One of the great utilities that we usually have installed to control our environment in real time is Nagstamon, This app installed at our kiosks, it will notify us when any monitoring item generates an alert. Integrates seamlessly into the Windows taskbar or anywhere in the workstation, also on computers with MacOS or Linux! We can use it to bypass email alerts if we are interested!
The first thing will be to download it from their website: https://nagstamon.ifw-dresden.de/download/ and perform the installation as usual, It has no mystery! The only thing and for now, To be taken into account, the stable version is not compatible with the latest Centreon and the Unstable version would have to be used. Once installed, We must register our monitoring server,
Nagstamon will be compatible with almost any monitoring system, supporting Nagios 1.x servers, 2.x, 3.x and 4.x, Icinga 1.2 or higher, and 2.3 or higher, Opsview 5.x, Op5 Monitor 7.x/ Ninja, Check_MK Multisite 1.1.10 or higher, Thruk 1.5.0 or higher and as an experimental mode also Livestatus, Zabiix 2.2 or higher and Zenoss.
We will have to add the URL of our server, plus login credentials, and little else! With this we will have Nagstamon ready to use!
We can integrate it as an icon in the system bar, or that floats directly on the desk where we are interested, hovering over it will show you the Hosts / Services that are down or down, in Critical or Warning state and the unknown or Unknown.
By positioning ourselves on the app, We will see in detail the alerted items, and right-click on them, We can force a recheck, connect by RDP, SSH, Telnet, VNC… Give it as OK, put it on maintenance… as that great Spanish bullfighter and best singer would say, In two words: 'Impressionant'.
If we go into Nagstamon's Settings we will see the infinite number of customizations that we can also make! Yes notifications with sounds, filters, colors, Fonts, actions, display…
I hope it has been useful to you, Enjoy!!! Thank you all for sharing, That's always 🙂 the case !!!
