How to renew Exchange self-signed certificates 2010

In Exchange 2010 It is well known that in order to communicate securely, each Microsoft Exchange Server service uses a secure connection using certificates; these certificates ensure the IMAP connection (Internet Message Access Protocol), POP (Post Office Protocol), SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol), IIS (Internet Information Services) and UM (Unified Messaging). And we will take special care to keep them renewed or valid. On Exchange Server 2007 this renewal process was carried out with three commands in PowerShell and now they have implemented the possibility of doing it through a wizard!

To renew a certificate, we'll go to the Exchange Management Console > “Server Configuration” > Select the server to which we want to renew the certificate and at the bottom we will see the certificates we currently have, Your State and the Services You Protect. We will have several options in the action panel, to create an Exchange certificate 2010, Import a certificate, Assign a certificate, Renew a certificate, Remove a certificate or open a certificate.

Select the protocols that we want to associate with the certificate and click on “Renew”,

In a few seconds it will renew the certificate by copying the fingerprint of the previous one and associating it with the services, will ask us for confirmation to crush the current certificate. We confirm with “Yes”.

And that's it. We see the three commands that were previously required or could now be used using the Exchange Server shell 2010.

By the way, If we have an edge server, we would have to delete the current subscription and create another one, in addition to synchronizing it again if the certificate affects that connection.
