Así que en este documento veremos como realizar una instalación del Conferencing Manager junto a una conexión de un par de usuarios a una reunión.

Instalación de Citrix Conferencing Manager,

GOOD, Started, vamos a instalar Conferencing Manager, para ello lo haremos desde el CD2 de Citrix Presentation Server, esta instalación la haremos sobre un servidor que tenga Citrix Presentation Server, lógicamente para que nos cree las salas de reuniones y los usuarios puedan hacer reuniones fácilmente.

Introducimos el CD y en el autorun vamos a “Presentation Server Utilities”,

We must enter at least two servers that have Citrix Presentation Server and their XML port, “Following”,

Conferencing Manager integrates with Microsoft Outlook and Lotus Notes, if we have either installed and are interested, we can integrate them to view Conferencing Manager meetings in our calendars. “Following”,

As I have marked the component “Guest participant service” we need to create the user accounts that we think we will need at most, so they can connect from outside without having their own Active Directory user account, first we indicate the service port, which by default is 9000tcp. Then we will select the number of accounts for the participants to be created, I will create a maximum of 5 guest user accounts with the account prefix INVIT. We indicate the name of the application to be published, by default Citrix Conferencing Manager, there may be ‘users’ so they don't understand it and we have to change the name to something more intuitive. We enter the credentials of a user account to be able to perform the above “End”,

GOOD, In this other part of the document is where we will see as users the basic functionality of Citrix Conferencing Manager, how we can create meetings and join them.

As we can see, a couple of new published applications have been created for us, to which users will have access for the meetings.

When a user wants to create a meeting, they will open the published application “Citrix Conferencing Manager” and from there they will be able to see the meetings to which they are invited, how they can create meetings.

To create a new meeting, on the console, click on “Meeting” > “New…”

Seleccionamos a quien queremos invitar en la reunión, agregamos los usuarios que nos interese, “Following”,

Seleccionamos quien queremos que controle el puntero del ratón y el teclado… lo normal es la primera opción (“Moderada por el anfitrion”) y que después seleccione el moderador quien debe manejarlos. Seleccionamos la profundidad del color y la resolución de la pantalla. “End”,

If we want guest users to be able to use Conferencing Manager, that is, people without an account in our active directory, we must create a site in the Web Interface so they can connect to our meetings through it, with their name, the 'user’ that we have specified (que no es un usuario de AD) y el ID de la reunión. Ojo para realizar esto, we need the server where the Web Interface will be created to have IIS installed, we can install this WI on a server that is not the Conferencing Manager.

Creating a website is the same as always in Citrix environments, from the console “Citrix Access Management Console”, since “Citrix Resources” > “Configuration Tools” > Right click on “Web Interface” and “Create Site”,

We select the last option, “Conferencing Manager guest participant site” & “Following”,

We select the IIS site to create this site, its path, which by default is /Citrix/CMGuest and “Following”,

If we are only going to have one WI server of this type we select the first option, if we are going to have several servers with the WI installed and configured the ideal would be the second option and that from this configuration server all the WI sites are configured. Nothing, Select “Local Files”, “Following”,

We check the parameters for the new site, if it is correct we click on “Following” to create it,

… we wait while the site is created…

GOOD, The site has been created but we need to configure it, so we leave the check “Configure this site now checked” and click on “Following”,

We are welcomed by the setup wizard of this new site, “Following”,

We must indicate the name of the Citrix community, the URL of the server with the External Conference Service, which by default will be a path like: HTTP://SERVER:9000/citrix/COrganizerWS/COrganizerWS.soap, in the central field we enter the PS servers and set the XML port, “Following”,

We check the configuration, if it is correct we press “End” to create the site.

Ok, site created.

And now it would simply be that the meeting guests open their own browser, entering their name, el ID de invitado y el ID de la reunión, accederán automáticamente a la consola de las reuniones, “Citrix Conferencing Manager” and that's it.
