This document explains how to back up the Citrix MSDE DB and how to restore the MSDE DB if necessary in a Citrix environment.

Back up the DB,

To back up the MSDE DB, we simply go to MSDOS from a console and from the command line we write “DSmaint Backup PATH_DE_BACKUP”.

Restoring an MSDE DB,

If necessary, we need to restore an MSDE database that we have backed up, we go to an MSDOS console, simply, we have to pre-stop Citrix IMA services with the “Net Stop Imaservice /y”. After, once stopped we will do the recovery of the DB with the command “DSMaint Recover ARCHIVO_DE_BACKUP_DE_LA_BD” and we will lift the stopped services with “Net Start ImaService”, “Net Start “Citrix WMI Service”” and “Net Start “Citrix SMA Service””.
