Configuring Sites in Citrix XenApp 4.5

In this part we will create two sites: one will be the website so that users can connect to the applications without the need for a client and the other will be the Site of the Program Neighborhood Agent that will serve to minimize the incidents of users to us, the administrators., since everything will be automatic, they will simply see an icon in the toolbar and from there they can access the applications or if not,, is configured to be from the Start Menu or from icons on the desktop. IIS Installed Requirement.

Website for users to connect via web – HERE
Program Neighborhood Agent Site for Agents – HERE

Web Interface of the 4.5,

Well, First we will create the website so that you can connect if necessary by web, To do this, we open the console “Access Management Console”,

We're going to “Citrix Resources” > “Configuration Tools” > “Create Site”

And in this case what we are going to create is a site for users to connect via the web, So we selected the first option “Access Platform Site” > “Following”

It shows us the IIS sites where the CTX site will create for us, Default “Default Website” and on the road “/Citrix/AccessPlatform/”, We can make it the default website of the site by checking the “Set as default page for the IIS site” > “Following”

If it is the first server with the website we will mark “Local Files”, but if we have a server with the site configuration, with a corporate design, We can instruct you to bring it to us from the second option “Following”

“Use built-in authentication or Advanced Access Control” > “Following”,

We check that everything is ok so that the site can be created… “Following”

Click on “End” and we verify that the check that “Set up this site now” is marked,

“Following”

We indicate the name of the community, and below we add all the servers with Presentation Server that we want to be accessed from this Werb Interface. We indicate in “Server port” the server's XML port and its transport “Following”,

When you create this WI, asks us if we want it to give access only to published applications (1Option) or only to distributed/streaming applications (2Option) or to all applications that have been, whether published or streamed, This option seems the most interesting, Mark “Dual Streaming” and “Following”

We check that everything is ok & “End”,

GOOD, The site is now created, Now we try to put HTTP://nombre_del_servidor_web_interface/citrix/accessplatform and perfect, Now we log in with a user who has permissions to access and we would load the applications,. This document explains how to secure this Web Interface in case we want to use it over the internet – HERE

Program Neighborhood Agent Site,

To create this site it is done from the same console, We open it “Access Managemient Console”,

We're going to “Citrix Resources” > “Configuration Tools” > “Create Site”

In this case it is a site for the Program Neighborhood Agent so we choose the second option “Program Neighborhood Agent Services Site” > “Following”,

We indicate on which IIS site you will create it for us, will create the site for us “/Citrix/PNAgent” > “Following”,

“Local Files” > “Following”,

We check that everything is fine and we continue “Following” to generate this site for us,

Click on “End” and we verify that the check that “Set up this site now” is marked,

“Following”

We indicate the name of the community, and below we add all the servers with Presentation Server that we want to be accessed from this Werb Interface. We indicate in “Server port” the server's XML port and its transport “Following”,

What kind of applications will this site serve for?; asks us if we want it to give access only to published applications (1Option) or only to distributed/streaming applications (2Option) or to all applications that have been, whether published or streamed, This option seems the most interesting, Mark “Dual Streaming” and “Following”

Ok, It's all right, We finish and the site is already created. Now we just have to keep in mind that when we install the client on a PC we dial the “Program Neighborhood Agent” and so you won't have to configure many things, If we are in a domain, only with the user's credentials would you see the applications to which they have access in the Start Menu, or on the Desktop or toolbar.
