Creating backup jobs in Nakivo Backup & Replication
GOOD! Continuing with Nakivo! This review of all the possibilities that we are going to give you, For now, let's start with the basics! How to make a backup? In this document we will see how to create a copy job to be able to support our virtual infrastructure!
In this Previous document We saw the initial setup, we continue now creating a Job of type Backup.
From the menu “Create” Select “Backup” and we choose our type of infrastructure that we have defined, in my case “VMware vSphere backup job”.
In the first step, will be where we select the virtual machines to protect, We can change the default view type is the “Hosts & Clusters”. Pressed “Next”,
In the step 2 Destiny, We will select the repository where we will host these backups. We can if we want to omit disks from the VMs or choose different repo. “Next”,
In the step 3 It will be where we will configure the schedule of our copy job, We left a program and continued!
In the step 4 Retention, We must define the number of recovery points that we are interested in having of the machines from which it will make a backup, as well as if we want to leave more recovery points in a historical way, that's great, No? “Next”,
And finally, in 5 Options, will be where we will configure certain parameters, What is the name of the task, if we enable App notification mode, The Method of Change, using VMware CBT by default, if we want to enable network acceleration, truncate Exchange or SQL logs as well as a pre or post script! Select the transports and end up pressing “Finish”,
List, we already see all the data of the copy, for now we haven't made copies! In this scenario we right-click the Job now with “Run Job”,
And nothing, We wait while the copy is made, We will see the status of the transfer speed at all times, transferred data or any type of message we have!
And nothing, We will see how in a few minutes we have our infrastructure totally secure and copied to another location! We will continue in other future documents with more interesting things about Nakivo! I hope you are interested!
