Hosted MobileMail de Citrix es una aplicación que podremos integrar en nuestras soluciones Citrix XenApp para entregar un aplicativo diseñado especificamente para trabajar con dispositivos móviles, bien sean smartphones o tabletas, una solución de cliente de correo electrónico, calendario y contactos con apariencia totalmente móvil!!!

MobileMail integrates automatically with our Exchange organization, if we have the AutoDiscover service correctly configured on our network, we will only need to install this app on the XenApp servers or desktops to be presented with XenDesktop, the app will connect through Exchange Web Services and our users will be able to access their email, calendar or contacts very easily and without configuration. It is recommended that we have the latest versions of Citrix Receiver on iOS or Android, to have a great user experience.

Initially we will download the application and install it, as requirements apart from having .Net Framework 4.0.3 we will have to locally install SQL Server 2012 LocalDB (x64) to use it as a cache for users, or having Office applications installed to make attachments visible, etc… It will be essential to later review the Profile Manager configuration in our organization, since we will have to force synchronizations and exclude directories from profiles, since caching the LocalDB database in the profile itself, this can affect the logon/logoff process, review the administration guide for this.

We will download 'MobileMailx64.msi'’ and install it from the MyCitrix site, Its installation has no complications.

We will publish it from XenApp/XenDesktop 7, 7.1 or 7.5 as usual.

If we have XenApp 6.5 we must have at least the Hotfix Rollup Pack 1 installed to have support for mobile applications, also when publishing it, en la descripción de la app sabemos que necesitaremos indicar ‘keyword:mobile’ para adaptarla.

Y esta sería la apariencia de la app abierta desde un iPhone, totalmente integrada y el usuario no sabe que realmente se ejecuta en nuestro DataCenter.
