One of the most common tasks in Citrix Provisioning Services is updating desktop or server images that we deliver to users, either to patch them, Add Apps, etc… In this document, we'll look at how to work with versioning and create a new vDisk update.
In this document, we'll look at how to extend a Citrix Provisioning Server infrastructure for high availability, this critical service that distributes OS to desktops or servers, expanding capacities and therefore having greater performance! It is a very simple task that we will have to perform if we have this service in production to quickly deploy operating systems over the network through PXE!
And to finish with this series of three articles where we will see how to deploy virtual desktops for our Citrix XenDesktop environment with Provisioning Services! we will finish with the presentation of the vDisk generated in previous steps to XenDesktop and we will create a catalog of VMs with it to present to our users!
We started a series of three articles on how to deploy Citrix Provisioning Services by integrating it with Citrix XenDesktop, a way of provisioning OS to virtual desktops that we will introduce to users. In this first article we will look at the installation of PVS Console, PVS Server and perform the PVS configuration wizard!
With Citrix Provisioning Services we can distribute servers or desktops over the network, called on-demand equipment provisioning. This provisioning will allow us to dynamically and accelerate the generation of new virtual desktops or servers at the desired time. Together with XenDesktop we will be able to manage virtual desktops as in VMware View with VMware Composer, distribute disk images that are obtained from a master virtual desktop with the Provisioning Services Agent to our users.
