Citrix QuickLaunch Tool

For all those who still use Program Neighborhood you will know that from the 11.1 of Citrix customers can no longer avail of this functionality. In order to give it a continuity, Citrix some time ago released a utility called Citrix Quick Launch that will allow us to connect directly to XenApp servers or to its applications as 'old'.

XenApp 6 – CPU Usage Management & Virtual memory optimization

Installing and Configuring Citrix Provisioning Services 5.6

With Citrix Provisioning Services we can distribute servers or desktops over the network, called on-demand equipment provisioning. This provisioning will allow us to dynamically and accelerate the generation of new virtual desktops or servers at the desired time. Together with XenDesktop we will be able to manage virtual desktops as in VMware View with VMware Composer, distribute disk images that are obtained from a master virtual desktop with the Provisioning Services Agent to our users.

Migrating the Citrix XenDesktop database 5

In this document we will see how to migrate the Citrix XenDesktop DB 5 to another database server, sometimes it is necessary since we may start our implementation or pilot of XenDesktop with the database in the broker itself (on-premises with SQL Express) and we want to take it to the corresponding DB server,

Installing and configuring Citrix XenDesktop 5

This article that I had pending publication was the new version of Citrix's XenDesktop where you will see the installation and configuration, this is Citrix's quintessential desktop virtualization infrastructure. What's new in this version: New look, Role-based installation (just like Citrix Xenapp 6), IMA disappears, Active Directory Configuration Wizard disappears, New Management Consoles (Desktop Studio and Desktop Director), Dazzle (HTTP://www.bujarra.com/?p=4157), enabling XenClient for connections and desktop synchronization… With this we will be able to provide our users with virtual desktops, in order to have a thin client environment on our network. With the Citrix controller we can manage the connections to the desktops that interest us (Supports up to 15000 MV cada controller), we will be able to connect to virtual machines based on Citrix XenServer, VMware vSphere or physical directly.

Citrix Streaming Application Delivery Using HTTP or HTTPS

Citrix Branch Repeater VPX

Citrix Branch Repeater VPX is the new name for the WANScaler appliance in virtual environments, Supported for Citrix XenServer, VMware vSphere and soon Microsoft Hyper-V. In this last document we already saw how to set up WANScaler (www.bujarra.com/?p=3320) so its operation does not vary too much, the most complicated thing will be to define a good design in our physical and virtual infrastructure since depending on the needs we will have to assign one or two physical NIC's to the virtual network where we host the virtual machine or configure different VLANs if necessary. In this document we will see how to deploy the VM and how we will optimize the traffic of an external client (with the plugin).
